Loosely depending on Arthur Schnitzler’s play La Ronde, this beautifully assembled movie is simple to look at. But that’s the problem: the topic should be much more challenging than this, as it’s about having the bravery to make surprising options. In Vienna, English businessman Michael (Law) has arranged to fulfill Slovakian prostitute Blanka (Siposova) on her first evening on the job. But the scenario changes, and Michael finishes up thinking his wife (Weisz) in London.
Meanwhile, she is having a affair with a Brazil (Cazarre) whose sweetheart (Flor) is fed up with his mistrust. On her journey house, she satisfies a struggling British man (Hopkins) and a recuperating sex-offender (Foster). Meanwhile, an Algerian dental (Debbouze) in love with his Russian worker (Drukarova), whose husband (Vdovichenkov) performs for a hotheaded gangster (Ivanir). And so on. The factor is that all of these people are linked by relationships and encounters in European countries and North America. And the continuous theme is that each individual must make a decision that absolutely changes their life. Basically the movie is motivating us to take the surprising hand in the street, even if we must pay the repercussions. But the program never follows through on this: the characters’ options never have any actual results.
